Polly and Dawn will have to wait to find out what I got in my order from Knit Happens but I doubt it's what you're thinking of Dawn!
We're about to embark on the next Rowan Exchange and I'm anxiously waiting forthe details of who I'm knitting for so that I can start. What ever I make will come from my stash - good job it's a fairly comprehensive one, I can cover most things from cobweb lace yarn to super chunky!! I've spent the last 2 days looking at so many "edges" that I'm beginning a nice straight edge is the way to go!
The bag I started yesterday is growing well. The yarn is a 50%mohair/50% wool mix from The Drop Spindle in Santa Maria and was a gift from Rachel of Dreamwoven The colours are blues, purples and turquoise. I'm planning to use some long plaited handles that I found in John Lewis the other week.
Posted by Yvonne at May 8, 2005 12:56 PMI spent hours going over edging too! Who knew there were so many? But I have a feeling -- knowing you -- whatever you come up with will be amazing!
Posted by: Kristine at May 15, 2005 10:56 PMjust wanted to add my welcome and compliments to all the others.
now we want to see more of your fabulous knitting!
Great to see you've now got somewhere to show your lovely knitting! How about 'flashing the stash'? (Removing tongue from cheek) - seriously - good luck with the blog Yvonne, you're already on my favourites list!

Hi Yvonne - what a lovely picture of you against some very familiar wallpaper!! I'm pleased to have found your blog, via Polly, I was looking through the rowanette blog ring to find you after Polly mentioned something at Liberty's the other week.
You write very well and I look forward to reading about and seeing all your projects. I think the baby blanket looks lovely - especially the cables ; )

Welcome to the world of blogging.
Love your picture with the Liberty wallpaper.
Happy knitting and blogging.
Posted by: Karin at May 9, 2005 10:12 AMThank goodness for Polly! This is what happens, you move out of London to the sticks and it's two months before you catch up with what's going on. I've been thinking for ages, if only Yvonne had a blog so we could keep in touch! rgds to Peckham, Sam
Posted by: Sam at May 8, 2005 10:00 PMGreat to be able to catch up with you on a daily basis via blog (linked today from Polly) and to see all the great knitting being done. My list of must read blogs is getting longer and longer!
Posted by: Lesley at May 8, 2005 09:55 PMHi Yvonne - Polly's putting the word out! Good to see you blogging. Now I can keep up with your knitting if I can't make it to Liberty.
Posted by: Mary at May 8, 2005 09:24 PMI'm really glad you started a blog, I've heard so much about your knitting on Rowan and through the other UK bloggers, it's nice to "see" and "hear" you at last. I can't wait for this edgy thing to start either as it'll be my first exchange. Quite exciting!
Posted by: Tracy at May 8, 2005 09:20 PMHi Yvonne - well done for taking the plunge and starting a blog. I like the baby blanket - you're brave doing all those cables! Any chance you'd be at Liberty's this week even though it's not a 'proper' week?
Hi Yvonne! Welcome to Blogville. A huge virtual casserole is headed your way.
I'm so excited that you're blogging (and taking photos!) because I know there will be so much to see.
Love, Kay

I was the lucky one in last exchage. I have used the fingerless gloves (2 pairs!!!) all winter. The "snake" was outed a couple of times and the wonderful scarf in yellow and green is at its best right now. Warm and sunny regards from Monica
From here in California (SF - guess?) via Polly's link. Wow! Love the layout and design! I love looking at beading and Polly's blog - what better can I do than to check a link of hers? This is great you started your blog and put in pics too. Love your projects and your buys.
