Difficult decisions

Thank you to everyone for your support. The last couple of days have been difficult and decisions have had to be made. The most difficult was to decide not to attend the funeral. This is made with the full support of Mum and 2 of my sisters.

This is because Matt and I had planned our first proper holiday for 3 years (no family, no knitting events, no duty visits etc) for this week to include a trip to our favourite kite festival. The festival is in Oostduinkerke, Belgium and is celebrating its 20th anniversary and would be a chance to meet up with many friends from all over the world.

The next decision has been about what to take! We've compromised on the kites and will be taking the rokkakus and some of our vintage kites to celebrate the 20th anniversary. The clothes are virtually packed, now all I need to decide is how much knitting to take for 6 days away - most of which will be spent either on a sandy beach or in a bar!

Have a wonderful time kite flying with lots of knitting in between. You deserve to have the best holiday ever, the pair of you.

Have a great trip! I guess the amount of knitting will depend on how much 'juice' will be consumed. Better not take anything too complex:0)

Always take more than you think you can do. I learnt that thru "transport strikes and wet holidays at the beach. Then there are disasters like breaking/losing the only set of needles you took. A girl needs to be prepared....

Have a great holiday, Yvonne. Kites! There is more to you than meets the eye :)

Then the pair of you deserve to have a really good break. I'd go with Karin's idea, Rowan denim, as it will be fine on the beach and if you have an accidental spillage in the bar, you can boil the devil out of it when you finish!

Relax, enjoy and knit. What could be better, you need something to knit on the journey and maybe something denim for the beach.
It must be a wonderful sight, all those kites. The weather should be good as well.
Have fun.
Love, Karin
