The slump is over, the needles are clicking!
On Tuesday, I received some wonderful bath goodies from my AKSP in Australia, it's amazing the effect that they had on my creative instincts.
On Wednesday Amazon delivered Wrap Style - a book I was not going to buy until I saw Jill's copy last week! I realised I wanted to make at least 6 of the designs and that I already had most of the yarn needed.
The post man also brought a wonderful packet from Linda Allen (also in Australia) with a yarn swap.

I grabbed the first ball out of the packet, my favourite short 5mm needle and left for work. Dawn reminded me that when in doubt I should knit hats - so here is Wednesday morning's effort in Jo Sharp's Silkroad aran tweed. A wonderful mix of wool, silk and cashmere - a real joy to work with.

Thursday morning saw me set of for work with Frog Tree Alpaca fingering weight yarn (birthday present from Nic) and the start of the Shetland Triangle from the new book and good progress was made on the way to work.

I ended up coming home instead of going to Liberty's due to joint pain - but for once my hands aren't affected so I can enjoy sitting and knitting!
Posted by Yvonne at September 30, 2005 09:28 AMI can't wait to see your finished Shetland Triangle. I just finished blocking mine over the weekend and love it. Yours looks sooo soft and beautiful already.
Posted by: isel at October 24, 2005 05:48 PMoooh, i LOVE that book (jo sharp), but don't own it (yet)!
the pinky scarf is very vibrant --- just fantastic! i love loud girly things :)
Same for me! I wasn't going to get this book thought it would be full of ponchos (it's not, and those in there can easily be adapted).
Hmmm, the silkroad aran looks delicious, and I love the colour of your new shawl.
I seem out of the slump too, it must have been a full moon or ascendent saturn, all that good stuff.

Posted by: Mary at September 30, 2005 06:29 PMThe Shetland Lace is gorgeous - such a beautiful colour. Love that Wrap Style book too. There really are some lovely things to knit right now. Too many books - so little time!!
Posted by: carol at September 30, 2005 01:15 PMI'm so happy you liked it. I've knitted a few things in the Silkroad Aran, and they feel delicious to knit and to wear. For some strange reason, the DK Silkroad weight isn't as soft, even though the colours are nice.
