Where did the time go?

I've been out of sync. for most of the past week - there are days when I've been full of energy and the weather has been awful and vice versa! There's been days when I had hours to surf the net and no-one blogged and days when my email crashed everytime I went near it.

Still it appears to be working now and there's only 900+ emails to wade through.

One of the first that I read told me of "Norma - the Notorious Nuisance's" death. I wish I could have met Norma - she lived in NJ and had fragile health but a real passion for knitting and spinning. We shared several lists together and enjoyed many exchanges - both words and gifts! A lot of the little bits and pieces I use daily for my knitting came from Norma - I used to love getting packages from her - she used to list the items on the customs label and occasionaly put the words "packaging material" - her code for some of her wonderful homespun yarns. There are still a few skeins left in the stash and they will be used for something special.

The other major event this week was the delivery of my new sewing machine (the last of the 50th birthday gifts) - nothing to show as yet as I'm still trying to get familiar with it - I did have fun though trying to find my stash box of Liberty fabric!

Knitting folk are so generous, how sad to hear about Norma. I'm sure you will create something wonderful from the homespun yarn you have from her. I like the little necktie from Knitty.

Will you be at Libertys next Thursday? Haven't seen you for ages (my fault not yours!).

Hope you found the liberty fabric stash and had fun with it and your new machine, I look forward to seeing what special things you make with your skeins from Norma.
Thanks to Dawn for the xmas countdown, I was trying to ignore how close it was, now all I have to do is work out who is getting an I.O.U instead of something knitted!!

sad, isn't it, about Norma. She was the extra ultra most generous skp wasn't she? You must finish some of the gifts (kits!) that she sent you. What a shame.

Blogs have been a bit slack recently, I think everyone's either depressed about the shorter days/colder weather, or is settling down to frantic christmas knitting. 48 days to go!

dawn:)
