Look who has arrived in the garden - our first gnome!
Harry was knitted by Hilary - the wonderful creator of Horace the missing tortoise. The lily pond was finger knitted by Oliver (11) at the Brighton show and his mum crocheted it together and embellished it. The water lilies are from a shy lady at Glasgow who did not want to give her name.
Posted by Yvonne at April 1, 2006 06:52 AMI just love the gnome and his accessories. But I really wanted to congratulate you on the yoga wrap which I saw a picture of on someone else's blog, and I remembered having seen it on yours a while ago. It is beautiful.
I am in Australia and trying to source some local yarn but without a great deal of success just yet - another yarn shop to visit tomorrow!
Posted by: Judith at April 3, 2006 08:04 AMhey, that is too cool! a knitted gnome. gee, wonder if he's the companion to the travelocity gnome? (sorry, an american commercial, lol) did you have a good show?
Posted by: minnie at April 3, 2006 02:30 AMPlease make sure that Harry is aware that talking to strangers is a bad thing and that he most certainly can't go off with them like the tortoise did. I love the apple tree blanket, I may need to give that book a second look. A.x
Posted by: Amelia at April 2, 2006 06:43 AMIt is looking so lovely that I can't pick my favourite, at all. I hope you have a rat trap under the gnome that that kind lady knitted. Imagine not being put off by your tortoise being stolen and knitting another gorgeous thing!
Posted by: Linda at April 1, 2006 11:49 PMThe gnome is lovely. I wish there was something like that over here. Hmmm. Getting inspiration. Mind if I steal the idea?
I hope you get your package soon. I sent it over a week ago, so hopefully it arrives soon.
Then I can start putting my real name on here. :)
OK now I wish I had come I've just 'stumbled' across Taj Yarns!
Posted by: Sue at April 1, 2006 02:28 PMFantastic!!!!
I love the gnome!!!
Was tha the lad that helped us all day, depite a horrid cold and tonsillitis, who taught zillions of people to finger knit???
By the way, are they firmly attached to the stand?
Sue
( kinda wish I was there!)
