finished on time for my sister to take home to Yorkshire - my niece will be thrilled and auntie can now get back to serious knitting!
A good afternoon on the town with Kate, a mooch around Covent garden and the Bead Shop, followed by lunch at Liberty's and a quick trip to John Lewis. It was hilarious seeing the staff's faces at Liberty's - they thought I had my days mixed up. Kate and I bought each other bath goodies as an easter treat.
It was a good day on the package front as well - the arrival of the MASON DIXON knitting book , some patterns from the Knitting Zone and a huge box of green and brown yarn from Fred to add to the garden.
I quite like the idea of taking days off in the week.
Posted by Yvonne at April 19, 2006 10:26 PMThe pink boleros will give much pleasure. I'd be tempted to wear one myself, for their sheer joyfulness, if I could forget that I have to look grownup, so as not to embarass my children.
Posted by: Linda at April 21, 2006 10:52 PMWhen your niece catches sight of that bolero, I'm going to be able to hear the squeals of joy all the way over here. Gold stars for auntie!
Posted by: Franklin at April 21, 2006 06:03 PMSounds like THE perfect day out! I'm so gealous... being stuck here in the office... oh well, at least it's Friday :)

Posted by: Brigid at April 20, 2006 09:37 PMWow! That sure is pink and fluffy. Reminds me of the Hostess confections that were covered with pink coconut -- Sno-balls maybe??
Your niece is going to be one happy little girl to get that. And you are one loving auntie to make it for her!

Posted by: minnie at April 20, 2006 04:28 AMThat sounds a covetous book from what I gather - I had just received the Nicky Epstein Knitted Flowers and Nigel Slater Kitchen Diaries in one posting - am now glutted out on flowers and food. The pink top is very delicious - I am not even going to show the daughter what you have made for the nieces and am very glad I didn't open your blog with her hanging around my neck as I KNOW what she would think I would be doing for her next. So any book review of the M-D book?
Posted by: Juliet at April 20, 2006 01:02 AMI recvd mine (and the Happy Hooker) today as well. I've another two on order (yikes, this business of not increasing YARN stash is a bit dangerous!)
