Update 2

A rotten day at work yesterday but I eventually got the end of quarter stats beaten into submission! Then off to Liberty's where a glass of Tio Pepe ans rhubarb tart helped put the world back on track. Very little knitting done as I really was not in the mood.

There were a couple of treats waiting when I got home - A cold bottle of wine and a book package. I can now pack One Skein and Big Girl Knits to take with me for the weekend. The blanket is included as is a cone of cotton from Coldspring Mill and a copy of T Twist Tee (from Knitty) which I thought might be good for mindless car knitting.

Nik's surgery appears to have gone well and my sister can bring him home this afternoon, his thumb and tendons are now reattached to his right hand so all we can hope is that he heals quickly.

Very jealous on 2 counts:

That you have One Skein. I have been waiting 10 days now for Amazon to get it in and send it to me.

That you can go to Liberty after work for sherry and cake, I have to make do with a coffee in M&S! ;o)

wow, that sounds entirely too painful! glad to hear the surgery was a success.

enjoy the weekend away (it's supposed to rain until monday, ugh, where's my blueprints?)

Yuck! What did he do, chop his thumb off? Hope it was on his hand that he doesn't use as much, I think it takes a while to recover.

Good luck, adn I expect we'll see a finished T Twist Tee next week. It's a nice design.

Hello - saw the link to your blog on the AK list and wanted to take a peek! Would really be interested in your opinion of BGK and One skein (It's so hard to think of anything worthwhile being made with just one skein of anything, LOL).
Have a lovely trip and glad you're over the stats hump at work (glad I no longer do much of that:)

Delurking briefly: Tio Pepe and rhubarb. Are you sure we're not related...? If I'd know Liberty did dry sherry, I wouldn't have paid £4 for a bottle of fizzy water!

Congrats on dealing with the stats - hope you're feeling up to some knitting again soon.

I will be very interested in your opinion of Big Girl Knits. I've seen conflicting reports.
Sorry you had a bad day - hope you enjoy the bank holiday weekend to make up.
