Bombshell

I finished the Bombshell using the contrast yarn as planned. Then I started moving my stash out of the flat and into the garage - you've guessed it - I found the missing ball! So this evening I have undone the moss stitch and restarted with the original colour!

The sun was shining at the weekend, my Mum was on holiday at her sister's so Matt drove me to Brighton. We had a great afternoon walking along the beach and a fish and chip supper. My Aunt had finished the Debbie Bliss jacket that I gave her the yarn for on her birthday last year and had really enjoyed working on it - so that makes this year's present an easy option ... more yarn.

Mum and Una looked through the Big Girl Knits book and thanks to them I have now cast on for Boobalicious using some Cathay from the mill shop, not sure if my hands will appreciate all of that moss stitch!

The yarn for the Peacock shawl is decided ( well it's got to the swatching stage) and it's Knit Picks Shimmer with thanks to a very generous friend! The colour way she chose had 3 main colours - two of which match the 2 new skirts I bought last week!

I'm thinking of the Wagtail for the Paisley shawl - just need to swatch to see which will work best a solid mid -blue that just gleams or a variegated cream/purple orchid colour mix.

I still need to decide on a project to keep me occupied for the World Cup as the baby knitting should be off the needles by the weekend.

I've finally acknowledged that the stash is totally out of control - 7 sacks of odd balls have been moved out into the garage and there is still more to go! Those friends that I have addresses for might need to watch their mailboxes in the next month as I wade through all of this!

Did you finish Boobalicious? I tried to do a search on your blog to see if you finished it. I recently have casted on with Cathay and am to the point of doing the sleeve decreasing. I am thinking two things...1. I might want it longer than the pattern says. 2. 13 balls of yarn is a way overestimate. I have only used 3 1/2 balls and am ready to do the arm shaping.

With the likelihood of Dune popping through my door I'm moving !! Actually no I've already moved about two months ago with no forwarding address. PS I've got a bundle of spare crochet hooks now.

Hah! I have a theory about wandering balls of yarn - I think there are herds of them that travel at night and with great stealth. They are very, very sneaky - you only caught that one because it let you, don't be fooled, yarn like that is very duplicitous.

Hi Yvonne

I've just seen your comment on one of the posts on my blog. Thank you! I'm definitely going to start knitting myself a Bombshell when I finish Uni at the end of next week. Well, I should finish a couple of other things first I guess! Hmmm. Stash yarns has opened in Putney, fairly near where my parents live, so I think I'll be having a look there to see if they have anything interesting for me to knit with. Looking forward to seeing the pics of your Bombshell, and glad you found the extra ball of yarn :o)

Amazing how that Stash multiplies, and it's never the yarn you need at the moment! I look forward to seeing your ebay stuff!
I really envy your knitting progress as well, speeding along and finishing loads of stuff.

For someone who 'doesn't like moss stitch' you seem to do rather a lot of it ;) A.x

You do realise that all of your friends are going to be rubbing their hands with glee, and watching earnestly for the postman every morning. ;)

Best of luck with the moss stitch, I love the look of it but it is SO hard on the hands.
