Get Knotted

Yesterday morning I grabbed a couple of skeins that needed winding into balls and decided that would be a good way to pass the journey.

The skein of silk is now a huge knot

The skein of wool is getting there but the ball is now so big it hurts my hands to hold and wind. I don't want to break it as I'm intrigued to see how it knits up with it's long colour changes.

One more day at work, tonight at Liberty's and then off to Wales in the morning via heathrow to collect a very important surprise package - Matt's cousin is coming home for xmas and we get to deliver him to his unsuspecting mother!

Happy Christmas - maybe the skein of silk that is now a knot could be left as a deeply ironic piece of art (until you need it)

that's cool! i'm sure his mother will be thrilled.

and i understand about knotted skeins. i had a skein ofhandspun that i dropped, and it got hopelessly tangled. it took me 2 days of picking at it to wind it.

i also had a skein of sock yarn that was accidently cut, and it tangled terribly as well. that also took me 2 days to wind, sigh.

Is the wool Kauni by any chance? Wonder what colours you chose! I've got another skein of greens and yellows to wind - this time I'll leave in one ball like you.
