happy holidays

The holiday started well when amongst all the chaos at Heathrow we managed to meet Matt's cousin exactly as he arrived! We had a good journey down through the most incredible fog - at times it felt like driving through alien landscapes - particularly scary on the Severn Bridge when we could not see the road, the bridge or the river.

There were lots of presents (and no photographs due to no batteries) and I have to say that Knitters give good presents!

To my Secret Pal 9 - the gloves fit perfectly and the Knitpicks needles will be put to good use.

My other friends spoilt me with Colinette yarn; a knitted hat; illuminated needles ( great fun); christmas cookies and a perfect pair of socks.

Matt received a pair of hand knit socks as well and is a very happy man - he spent most of xmas day holding his feet out to admire them!

The family presents were their usual mix - anyone suggest a use for 20 balls of Foxy?

A good journey back today and I'm now trying to get organised for back to work in the morning.

On the knitting front I started a Colinette throw in greens and have also begun a Hap shawl using the Kauni Effektgarn EM yarn I bought from www.wollsucht.de I love the way the colour changes are working out.

Happy Christmas! I'll email you tomorrow when we're back and I have access to my email addresses (and a mouse with a scroll button!).
We're gently relaxing, very tired.

Happy Christmas, and warmest wishes for the new year! No yarn under the tree for me, but a good half-dozen knitting books, so I was happy.

All the best,
Carolyn

Glad the gifts made it over there! I worry about packages this time of year! :D

20 balls of Sirdar Foxy? oh my .... I am not sure exactly what to say about that.... not sure I would bother with ebay ... send it to someone German, the Germans seem really fond of fun fur.

Knitters do give good presents... have you any suggestions of what I can do with a talking horse's head on a broom handle ?
(Probably the same answer as the foxy....)

I looked at that Kauni website - but any German I have is remembered from British war films, so not much good! I couldn't see anything to press for an English translation. All I can suggest for Foxy is e-bay......

Couldn't agree more, kniters give super presents....
