What I did at the weekend

Saturday
Bus, train station - no trains, back to the bus. Next train station (on a different line), train - wrong destination; change trains; change trains again then walk in the pouring rain to Stash!

Meet up with the birthday girl Dawn, Jill, Sue, Wibbo (who is on a Knitting from Stash plan), Nickerjac and others.

Fondle yarn, look at books, talk, knit, drink coffee, buy planned items,

knit, talk , laugh, make unplanned purchase of one skein of yarn,

knit some more

and then leave for the journey home.

Walk in rain, train (to the normal station), walk, wait for next train, cancelled, wait half an hour, next train delayed. Get on delayed train which stops at the first stop and then goes fast (not stopping) to the last station on the line. No trains back to where I live. Can't find a bus that goes any where near where I live. Phone Matt, wait in the rain for him to drive and pick me up.

Sunday

Ache, cough, sneeze, try to knit lace pattern from Aussie magazine,

ache, sleep,

Well, I nearly joined you too, as Ian was spending a day at the PRO. But getting up at 05.30 was too much for me as I had a dull earache. I even thought of going over to Sleaford to join up with Knitlincs, but the earache kept me home all day. Thank heavens the earache as gone now.

Brings back memories of a similar trip to Handweavers once, rain and all. Must fabricate a reason to come down and see Stash for real, probably quicker from here than SE15.

Honestly, it's a knitting from your stash plan, although knitting from Stash would probably be a better idea! Sorry you had such a beastly journey there and back, but it was nice to see you.

Hope you are better soon, only one extra something?! wow - talk about strong will power, most impressed especially when we can see the goodies you HAVE bought (lovely)!

Hope you are feeling better, isn't public transport a pain sometimes, I like all your purchases, especially the cashmere hat, yummmy!

goodness! is it always that way on the weekend? sounds like a stinky trip all around. makes a good case for learning to drive (or something like that), eh?

did you at least have a good time?

Funny how far away Stash can seem when the trains are like that! Sorry you've caught a cold and hope you're better soon.

I didn't realise that you'd bought some cashmere as well! What a crap journey you had home! I've been very restrained and not wound any new yarn into balls ready for knitting (yet!)
