One of the great things about Ravelry is the inspiration you find. I've known for a long while that my stash is out of control (was it ever in control?) and that I need to get more exercise so my only New Year's resolution is to join in with the Knit a Mile challenge.
It starts at 4pm GMT today and the aim is to have knitted a mile of yarn in six weeks. I'm also aiming to walk a mile each day arthritis permitting.
The pedometer is set but no needles / yarn / specific project have been chosen - I'm intending to dabble, as usual, with an eclectic mix of projects. I have a few small gifts to finish, a baby jacket to knit and sale yarn waiting for inspiration.
I'm off to play with Excel to see if I can find a way of recording all this!
Posted by Yvonne at January 5, 2008 12:12 PMThat sounds like a really neat idea! I'd be willing to join in if it weren't for the fact that I'm already in the middle of other projects, and am not sure how far through the balls and skeins I am, and so wouldn't be able to accurately measure it. I could estimate, but that might not end up going so well.
Possibly if the challenge is run again at another time, I'll give it a go, though! Good luck with yours!

Posted by: Sarah at January 6, 2008 10:23 AMGood luck on the knit-athletics I am too lazy but I am wishing you well. BTW is there such a thing as a stash under control??? I had plans to be very good (as am totally skint but splurged on a Helen's Laces in colourway Devon) but there is no such thing as stash control really - is there?
