Attempts

I started this morning with the positive intent of returning to work. Less than 2 miles into the journey i felt so travel sick I got off the bus and walked home! Back to the Dr's for me.

Knitting attempts have been frustrating, the yarn for Olivia's jacket is so fine I can't feel it; I seem unable to knit garter stitch to an even tension and attempts to read a pattern and then my knitting just make me nauseous.

I'm persisting with the garter stitch and now have 2 panels completed, 187 rows of less than 30 stitches in a week - it's a good job I'm not trying to compete in the Knitting Olympics. No-one's guessed the pattern as yet - want to try guessing the yarn?

Being at home gives me far too much time to browse the internet and I seem to be click happy and have orders on their way from a number of different sources - I need to get back to work before the floor subsides with more purchases. I've only ordered oddments of things for felting projects but once i added in magazines, patterns and bag bottoms the cost seems to have rocketed.

I've just realised that I missed the Liberty's group birthday last week - six years of meeting there - what a fantastic tribute to Polly and the other founding members

Oh, I hope you feel better soon.

You poor dear! Nothing worse than being home sick, but too sick to knit. So frustrating! Does it help to take motion sickness medicine? I can't knit on trains or in cars without taking it. Here in the states the product is called Dramamine or Bonin. Sorry to hear you missed the Liberty's group. They are a wonderful lot.

Poor you, Yvonne. I hope you feel better soon. Is it a bag for felting that you're knitting, perhaps using New Lanark Mill yarn? You'll need to use up your stock so you can enjoy another retail experience with them in Glasgow :-)

It sounds horrible, being too poorly to knit. I do think that rest could be the best things, so try to enjoy your purchases and do some planning ahead (without moving) for when you feel better. I really hope that you are up to coming to the Show in Brightonin February.

Take care of yourself, Yvonne, here's hoping that you soon recover from the vertigo and can knit again.

You deserve to treat yourself to some online purchases while you are off sick, I just hope that they don't arrive all at once or you could disappear under the avalanche.

Poor you! The vertigo will eventually go, won't it? Does shutting your eyes help at all? One thing being at home, knitting, but I couldn't imagine being at home and NOT being able to knit! Get well soon !
