Life's in a spin

For the first time in 10 days I'm beginning to feel human! The room has stopped spinning, the nausea has vanished and a small amount of knitting and pattern reading has been achieved.

The yarn that arrived this week is already on the needles so won't count as stash, no photos as the item is planned as a gift if I can finish it in time. It's a real pleasure to be working with wool again and a project on large needles where gauge doesn't really matter has got to be good for post-viral tension!

Our well trained postman left his job in December and since then there's been an ad-hoc selection. Since being at home I've noticed a pattern beginning to emerge - the letters arrive @ 11am and packages @ 12.30. Matt had taken Friday off and stayed home with me and he had the pleasure of meeting the "new" postman who does our parcel route. The postman turns out to be someone Matt knew from his time in the post office (over 20 years ago) so the "training session" didn't take very long - only snag was that Bob mentioned how many packages he'd delivered here this week - I must remember to have my own training session with him soon!

Today's deliveries were a fantastic surprise, one was an expenses cheque which will replenish the yarn budget and the second was this

Phoeknits had a blog competition to celebrate her birthday last week and I won the grand prize! I'm trying hard to resist the lure of starting this straight away - I think my head needs a few more days to stabilise so for now the book is bedtime reading and I'm contemplating a haircut to show off the earrings!

glad to hear you're feeling better. we only had 2 in this house catch the martian flu, and fortunately, it was the 2 who go through that stuff rather quickly (my son & my husband, lol). 12 hours later, and they'e all hunky dory!

Looking back over your last few entries, I see you have been proper poorly - I'm so glad you're feeling better, Yvonne. Now maybe you can get round to some more pleasurable spinning?
