..is in sight!
I'm halfway up the second sleeve and then there are just a few rows of the yoke. If possible I plan to finish knitting by Thursday night at I Knit.
All of which leaves me in a predicament, We're going away for the weekend on Saturday so I need motorway knitting; knitting for sitting on a beach; knitting for sitting on the common; knitting for walking around the zoo and knitting for reclining in the hotel - I can't think of any single project that will meet those kinds of demands - any suggestions?

Have a good holiday, whatever you decide to take.
don't know how fast you knit, but you could take stuff for a beret, gloves, scarf and bag - perhaps different colours with a common motif or pattern stitch? Give you some easy and some more challenging stuff depending on where you find yourself!
Posted by: polly at August 21, 2008 01:44 PMhmmm how about some sort of modular colurwork blanket that - for example go look at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sock-yarn-blanket just stunning or the equally divine http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bobbys-garden.
Posted by: juliet at August 20, 2008 04:10 PMMy first thought was socks, too, but I knew you wouldn't like that answer :-) Is anyone you know having a baby? If so, what about an EZ Surprise Jacket? Small, and portable.
Posted by: Dropone at August 20, 2008 01:35 PMI was going to say socks too! (you can always do them in DK?!) - you've just got to go there, Yvonne - they're so perfect for walking round the zoo!
Anyway, I know you don't, so - how about a moebius cowl? Round and round and round. I only suggest that, because I've just mastered the cast on for my ravelympic challenge... congrats on your medal and see you on the 30th.
Well since you don't do socks, maybe a shawl or scarf? Not a fine lacy one, but one in dk or 4ply, with an easy to remember pattern. That would be good for everying bar walking around the zoo! Maybe a pair of fingerless gloves or a small neck scarf for that - I presume you can take two lots of knitting? Might see you tomorrow, depends how my busy few days go!
