Not blogging but knitting

Where did the time go?

Matt and I had a quiet christmas in Wales, much of which was spent reclined on the sofa, foot in the air, knitting my xmas presents. My sister had found me some handdyed roving which quickly knitted up into the Urchin hat by Ysolda Teague.

One of my friends had sent me a kit for a Little Scarf and the alpaca/merino mix yarn was a joy to work with. I loved knitting this as it was on large needles and had a simple 4 row pattern - 3 of which were garter stitch. The scarf has been worn every day since it was finished so I'll have to take it off soon and take it's photo!

There is no real excuse for lack of photos as Matt bought me a great camera for xmas. I'm trying to learn how to use it. Other presents included some new cookery books which are keeping me inspired in the kitchen and some fantastic items knitted by friends - all of which have now been worn and much admired by others. There was also wonderful yarn that I'm looking forward to using.

I have deadline knitting to do but am not good at remaining monogamous to any one project so the weekdays are for the deadline stuff and the weekends are for the fun stuff.

How do you organise your knitting time?

I am still waiting for the sock bag image. I'd love to see it. :)

I'm going to try and behave like Stash this year and make a knitting list every month, then work on it. We'll see.....

All my time is knitting time, it's everything else that has to wait!

If I knit while the washing machine is running, is that still multi tasking?

knitting time hmmmm - well everytime is knitting time, it is just other things steal that time away from the project(s) in hand. Sigh, double sigh and sigh again...

I don't organise as such...but I work conventional hours 4 days a week so get time. Today I'm off to Brum to KnitNight so, an hour each way on the slow train, a couple of hours sociable knitting then half hour home on the quick train!
Other days between work, housework, and generally being on the computer barely a stitch gets knit!

OOps! pressed the button before I was ready!
I did manage to control my life over Christmas, and managed to knit the Celtic Tote from Interweave. Very nice, but a bit scary, I'd never felted before, on purpose, that is.

I don't organise it! I have to steal it whenever I can get a chance.

I don't usually organize my knitting time.
Maybe that is why I have weekends like this one every 3 months or so?
Over the weekend I have finished my Mystery Blanket squares for January, sewed up my sweater and blocked 2 shawls.
So tomorrow I will once again have only 1 large and 1 small project on the go.
Until Tuesday that is...when one of the girls at my S'n'B is learning me to knit socks on 2 short circs ;)
