Time to show some of the knitting. Here's an in progress shot of the blanket I'm knitting for Macmillan
The yarn is by Biggan and I just love the range of colours.
Not sure if this will be finished in the next week but I'm going to try to get it done in time to deliver to Ally Pally.
I've a number of cardigan and jackets in various stages of production but the advent of autumn has made me evaluate my wardrobe contents and I've noted a lack of pullovers. I want comfy, wear with jeans items for doing the chores, going shopping etc, what some of my friends call barn pullovers. Anyone got any favourite patterns to suggest?
Posted by Yvonne at October 4, 2009 01:31 PMI'd suggest Corduroy from A Fine Fleece. Actually, I'd suggest nearly any sweater pattern in that book.
Posted by: Stashhaus at October 6, 2009 12:07 AMYvonne that blanket is gorgeous.
I will be following the suggested list too! Bring on winter and the comfy sweater I say.
i'd suggest the cobblestone pullover. i know it's a man'spattern, but i havea friend who madeit for herself, andshe adores it.
Posted by: minnie at October 5, 2009 03:20 AMSome computer ate my earlier comment. Maybe I didn't preview it properly.
I suggest Fisherman by Kim Hargreaves. I mean to make it this fall, if I ever get done the various other things I also mean to knit!
It was in Rowan 10 and is on the cover of the new Rowan's Greatest Knits. Big and comfy and neither too patterned nor too plain! And it's the only time Kate Moss and I will be able to wear the same sweater....
Posted by: Mary de B at October 4, 2009 09:48 PMlovely colours, and great setting.whoever gets the blanket will love it.
sorry, can't suggest a pattern
I'm going to watch what other people say, I'd be interested in a comfy jumper too. What about another ribbing is no yoke? I've lost mine, but it was a great wear.
