Blanket post

I was determined to finish the Macmillan blanket and hand it in to the people at The Knitter. I left work early-ish on Thursday intending to spend the evening working on it at I Knit. Not a lot got done, there were new people to talk too, projects to admire and Ally Pally spoils to drool over.

I finished the last square at 1am and crawled off to bed for a few hours sleep. When I woke up I started with the idea of a knitted border, reality kicked in halfway through a cup of coffee and I reached for a crochet hook and worked 2 rounds of double crochets.

I spent part of the journey sewing in ends and then decided that the border needed to be wider so another round of dc was done on the tube and on the bus up to Ally Pally. There were still ends to be sewn in so I made a deal with myself - no going into the show halls until it was completed.

I met up with friends for a cold picnic outside and finally got to show off the finished item. One quick photo and then I went into the hall, a quick stop off to see Vanessa and show her the finished blanket and then I took it along and gave it away!

The Knitter staff made very nice comments and said it might be one of the ones raffled to raise further funds - I just hope it goes to someone who will appreciate the joy of a hand knit blanket

Isn't it lovely? One of those projects that must make you very proud. Love the choice of colours

Seconded! Much gorgeousness: and thank you.

Do you have any feedback about the stand/campaign?

It is gorgeous - Jane and I had the joy when we knocked the blanket pile over right at the end of the day (oops) so had to refold and repile everything. It's truly gorgeous!
