Time Flies

I can't believe it's a month since I last blogged - where has the time gone? I've been hanging out at the Royal Festival Hall having treated myself to South Bank membership; I had a great afternoon out with Liz at the Quilts exhibition at the V&A - enhanced further by the knowledge that not only I can get into the exhibitions free due to my disabilitiies but I can also have free entry for my "carer" - this has caused multiple hilarity amongst my friends!

I've finally settled into a routine with my shift pattern, the first 6 day block nearly killed me, perhaps because it coincided with the warmer weather, the hayfever season (for tree pollen sufferers) and as usual in such conditions asthma attacks.

Today is World Asthma Day though you wouldn't believe it in the UK due to the lack of publicity amid all the politics.

I've spent the day traveling between home - Worthing -home visiting one of my favourite Aunt's. She's not at all well but the visit reassured me far more than the phone calls have. The walk through a town I've never visited before was enjoyable especially when I found a great little wool shop, next door to a patisserie, a few doors down from a needlecraft centre which was opposite a general craft store - all within 200 yards - my kind of town. Of course I'd left the camera at home!

Knitting has been hit and miss. I'm still working on the Percy shawl having ripped back part of pattern B because I decided I need another 4 repeats of pattern A. They are done so I just need a quiet hour to get the new pattern set!

I finished Aeonium by Woolly Wormhead and have completed another test knit hat for her (photos will follow once the pattern is published). In the meantime here's Aeonium

Yarn is from stash, Mountain Colors 4/8s one of my favourites when I can get hold of it!

I've started a summer top using Bamboo Tape from the stash pile but the recent change in the weather has made me go back to the winter projects!

I've also signed up for the Rowan Tree exchange on Ravelry and am enjoying stalking my victim trying to find ideas.

Thanks for the reminder - I SO want to go and see quilts and hoping we'll have time to go. Good to see you posting again too.
