I haven't fallen off the edge of the blog world, I'm just taking time out to spend with one of my favourite Aunts. Some of you will have met her in person as she used to volunteer with me for the Brighton show.
Just over two weeks ago she was taken into hospital; 12 days ago I visited her and was shocked at the changes since I last saw her 6 weeks ago. 10 days ago my cousin was called home from the USA; I visited this weekend as my Mum had made the trek down from Yorkshire and Saturday would have been Dad's birthday.
The change in my Aunt in a week was significant and she no longer knew who we were, I don't think the end is far away.

Posted by: Helen at May 20, 2010 08:05 AMhugs to you, hon. when my grandma passed 17 1/2 years ago, the cousins told me that she probably wouldn't know me, as she hadn't known any one else that came in the room. i walked in, she looked up, and she said my name. it was a lovely gift at the end of her life.
i hope that she doesn't linger, if that's the plan for her.

Posted by: Jan at May 17, 2010 02:21 PMWhat sad news. I remember the special time we spent with Allan's Grannie a number of years ago as we "waited". It is special, it is hard, take care, thinking of you.
