Mojo

Many thanks for the sympathy - I'm getting my mojo back! The BP is on it's way down now all I need is for the headaches to go away.

I know I'm feeling somewhat better as knitting has started again! I've finally got the motivation to start my Rowanette Exchange and there has been a little progress.

I think the Mojo was heavily influenced by receiving the invite to join Ravelry though the thought of trying to catalogue my stash fills me with some dread. So far I've added the yarn within reach of my chair....

On a totally different note, my thoughts are with the people in my home town of Sheffield.

My sister Kate's home was under water when she arrived home from her holiday in Greece undoing all the hard work put in by the builders and decorators whilst she was away! She has now got the electric back on, has had the water pumped out and is trying to clean up all the mud and sewage that the flood brought in. The rest of the family can't get through to help her and I feel helpless here in the South!

Feeling YUK!

if you're wondering why I've been quiet it's because I feel YUK! I know I've been putting in too many hours on the day job so decided to give myself a few days rest with my family in Yorkshire.

Before I set off I went to see my Dr and ended up with more medication and a strict lecture, I'm to get my blood pressure down - I hate to think what it would be if I didn't knit as much as I do to help me relax.

I enjoyed my train journey home as I knew I was being met at the station by

who insisted I hurry up with my suitcase and come outside to see this

they had just finished it and turned the water on! Not a great photo but it was raining and I wanted to keep dry! The fountains and water cascade looked spectacular and made an interesting start to my visit.

Lots of other water as it rained non-stop for the entire 3 days I was there but at least I got to teach my eldest niece to finger knit

a phone conversation with my sister today confirmed that she is still at it and has been teaching friends at ballet class!

I'm back in London trying to get my act together and do laundry etc prior to going back to work but feel that a nap might be in order!

Exchanges

For the last 7 years I've been involved in a vaiety of exchanges and have always loved the fun of shopping / knitting for my recipients. I've also greatly enjoyed the sound of packages being delivered, paper being ripped open and the joy of discovering the hidden delights.

I've had the pleasure of being able of meet up with some of my partners and have formed great friendships that have lasted for years. Some of the gifts I have received are used daily and never fail to bring a smile to my face with memories of the fun we had.

I'm currently involved in 3 exchanges:-

One from the WeLuvKnitting group - a 4 times a year exchange with a named partner and I'm plotting (quite happily) what to give Julie for the July swap - I'm hoping that I can get to meet up with her as she plans to visit the UK this summer.

The second is the Rowan Exchange, an annual event instigated by Polly. I have the details of the person I'm knitting for and have started 2 or 3 things but don't feel right about my choices so am still undecided. The first gift of the exchange has already arrived with it's recipient, can you say I'm beginning to feel some pressure.....

The third exchange is SP10. I'm enjoying concocting parcels to send to the person I'm sending to and have even been inspired to knit and sew for them - none of that makes for good blog fodder until I can disclose who I am.

You may have noticed there have been no posts about packages received as there have been none to date. I'm told that there will be one on it's way........

WWKIP 2007

A very laid back World Wide Knit in Public day at Bovey Tracey. The sun shone, there was great food and even better company! It was great to see Terri again.

I'd planned to do lots of knitting on the train journeys and did none - it was impossible on the journey down as the train was so overcrowded, I stood as far as Reading and was lucky to get a seat, others stood as far as Taunton!

The journey home was quieter and I just looked out of the window and enjoyed the scenic views.

Not waving....

but drowning in a sea of work!

After a rough week we escaped to the seaside to meet up with my Mum and Aunt. Matt got carried away with the phototaking and failed to notice the size of some of the waves.

This week hasn't been much better so I'm taking myself off to Bovey Tracey in Devon to spend Saturday knitting in public at a Craft Fair. I'm looking forward to meeting up with the KCG and Tutley Mutley my SP8 pal!

On the knitting front, Tailored Scallops is off the needles just waiting to be sewn together and I've started the Queen of the Waves shawl by Ilga Leja
