Counting to 100

There's been no major knitting here just lots of small projects using less than 100gms of yarn. Some can be shown and some are still secrets.

My favourites are Woolly Wormhead's Mystery Hat B which I'll show once it can be made public - Ruth has done an excellent job with the pattern yet again and I'm now planning to cast on for Mystery Hat A

I've been knitting little scarves using the Priska pattern from Ravelry and a couple of balls of Mille Colori and have already memorised the pattern. They're a quick knit finished in a full day or two evenings.

My last project took 65 gms but took weeks of knitting. I started off my misreading the pattern for the moebious strip but decided I liked my variation so carried on as I'd started. The pattern is well written and charted - the two mistakes are my own, I should not knit lace when I'm tired or had a glass of wine. By the time I had noticed them I was 20+ rows past the error and decided to brazen it out and leave them rather than frog this yarn.

The pattern is the Scilla Cape and the yarn is Qiviet, an absolute dream to work with. Here's the finished item at pre-blocking stage

Packing is finished for the trip to Boston, 4 projects packed, spare needles and the wish list - lets see how much I can get done!

It's becoming a habit

If it's November it must mean that Franklin's in town!

Thanks to Gerard at I Knit for playing host. We had a lovely evening catching up with news of Dolores and Harry, knitting, admiring shawls, eating cake and discussing patterns.

Snailhannah brought her Lambies and Franklin couldn't resist a row

Liz reunited Franklin with one of his oldest projects but only after she'd subjected it to a photoshoot!

and I encouraged him to look at some of my vintage patterns

the magazines were from 1915 which somehow felt appropriate.
