There's still life here - I haven't fallen off of the planet!
It's been busy, there've been a few ups and downs and a few select highlights the best of which happened last week. After the fiasco of Xmas it was good to get a call from Matt's cousin saying he had a few days off and if he could get home from the USA were we up for a weekend in Wales.
Instant answer = YES!
I love going to Wales; I love being spoilt by Matt's Aunt (spoilt as in not allowed in the kitchen, no cooking, no washing up etc); it was great to see Andrew again and best of all - the sun shone on Saturday and we were able to get out on the Gower.
Ice cream and coffee at Verdi's in the Mumbles is always a treat and then we went on to Rhossilli to enjoy the sunshine and the views over and from the Worm's Head.
After the chaos of London my lungs and legs really enjoyed this - perhaps on my next visit I'll be able to cope with the walk down and up from the beach (it might look familiar to some of you as it's been used in Torchwood and other series).
The weekend before saw me in Brighton (Hove, actually!),
my annual visit to the Brighton show - this year was very poignant, the first time in 10 years that I didn't share it with my Aunt Una and I really missed her prescence, she would have loved the Above and Below the Waves exhibit which is raising funds for the RNLI.
It was good to spend time visiting with "old" friends and Wibbo's hug made the visit extra special.
Mid- January saw us make the journey to Devon for Morris' 70th birthday - as the Chair of the local CAMRA you can guess what sort of evening we had - wonderful! Lots of traditional folk music, morris dancing, story telling and laughter with friends we see all too rarely. Here's the birthday boy
Next week is the knee operation, I'm hoping it will be fairly straightforward but as they were unable to do an MRI it's a bit of mystery.
There has been knitting, mainly very chunky knitting as I've been in search of a quick fix - hopefully more photos in the next post.
