No photos as yet as in it's current state today's knitting looks like an undecipherable blob!
A few weeks ago I decided to knit Yvonne by Julie Weisenberger using some Noro Yuzen in a brown, grey, purple mix. The idea came after attending Julie's class at Knit Nation and finding she had a pattern with my name on it! Someone described the pattern as looking like a pair of underpants for a Sumo wrestler - a description I've used when people have asked me what I'm knitting.
The project has been my motorway / long journey knitting project (I'm the passenger!) for our holiday in Devon, a weekend away in Colchester and this weekend's trip to Portsmouth. A simple pattern, easily memorised and suitably mindless for all the miles we've travelled.
Today saw me knit the last of the increase rounds, grounds for celebration - there's only about 10,000 stitches to go until it's finished!
Last Monday I ripped out my first attempt at the Pembroke Wrap from IK Fall 2011. I was knitting it with Mirasol Ushya yarn (a lovely tubular yarn - bulky but light) and decided that I needed the lace work to be more open . I started again on a 10mm needle and was much happier with the fabric - so happy that I finished it on Tuesday!
This Monday I've been making some slow progress on a sweater for me, photos will follow as soon as there is something interesting to see!
I think I've got my knitting mojo back, the realisation that I've lost weight and that most of my favourite sweaters now hang off me is a powerful motivation to get ready for winter!!
The bus incident was fairly minor, just a large jolt! Typical London bus passenger behaviour then ensued - everyone scrambling to get off the bus & onto the next one! The bus driver looked rather bemused when I stayed seated & carried on knitting - well I was an hour early for work & the lace was going well.
I have so many projects on the go that I decided I needed a quick fix so am knitting the Pembroke Shawl from Fall IK, it's on 9mm needles! No links as i'm writing this from my iPad & haven't worked how to do them yet!
Just looked at my diary & my 7 hours at work today includes 4.5 hours of meetings, guess there'll be a lot of talking ( & wishing I could be knitting instead!)
It's been a long and at times hectic few months. I'd planned to start blogging again whilst in Devon two weeks ago but got struck down by the lurgy.
I then convinced myself I'd start when I got home but the inconsiderate actions of many people meant a sudden increase in the number of referrals we received at work last week and we've been rushed off our feet.
Last night I decided I would start blogging again and was prompted by Natalie of The YarnYard to commence with Making Mondays.
This morning I set off in high hopes of having something to show you after my journey to work - instead I found myself making out accident reports after someone drove into the side of the bus!
So - my Making Monday is a baby step back into the world of blogging!
