So Yvonne by Julie Weisenberger is finally off the needles and has been tried on by half of the people in I Knit London last Thursday! It has been washed and is now drying so I hope to have a wearable photo for later in the week!
It was a simple and at times tedious knit enlivened as always by Mr Noro"s colour choices. I'm thinking I might want to reduce the size of the arm holes but will wait until after the initial wear to decide.
Every year I fall for it and every year I swear never again! The Rowan Tree exchange is upon me. I've taken part in every one of the summer exchanges since they were started on the old Rowan Board. This year I get to knit for someone I know and admire so the pressure is on & when that happens my knitting goes to pot! I have had 3 project starts, 2 of which have been scrapped and I think the 3rd one might be a winner if only I could count to 6! It's taken 4 attempts to begin to get the pattern into my brain and I find I'm having to take notes, use post its and seriously consider lifelines - I think my knitting brain has turned to mush.
The mush phase seems to have lasted for most of the summer hence my fascination with garter stitch - here's an example of early summer mush -
Different Lines by Veera Välimäki knitted in what is rapidly becoming my favourite yarn - I Knit or Dye's Alpaca/Cashmere/ Silk mix
